Rally Day

Sunday is Rally Day!!!  The Chancel Choir begins for the year and Sunday School for the kids resumes between services (9:30-10:15).  Invite your neighbors!  Please remember that second service continues to begin at 10:30 throughout the year.   After second service at around 12:15 the Bible Study on Grace (focusing on the Gospel according to John) starts up.  I hope you have that on your calendar!

Tomorrow morning bring all that you no longer want that is gathering dust at your house to the YARD SALE drop off, 9-11 a.m. both tomorrow and the following Saturday.  Remember, one person’s junk is another person’s treasure!

See you soon!  Have a blessed day.

Annual Charge Conference

Hello all,

What a wonderful, awesome Hopefest weekend it was.  The music was incredible!  Of course I’m partial to MUMC’s praise team but Mark Schultz and the other musicians were inspiring as well.  Thanks to all who worked so hard to make it happen.

Two dates for you to put on your calendars.  The Annual Charge Conference has been scheduled, facilitated by the District Superintendent, Jim McPhee for Wednesday, November 16 at 7 p.m.  The Staff Parish team will meet with him at 6 p.m.  The Charge Conference will include worship and conversation about where the church is and where it is going.

The second date is Monday evening, October 3 at 7 p.m. Would you like to carpool to Salisbury, Massachusetts, leaving early enough to get a seafood dinner since we’ll be near the shore?  It is an evening with the Bishop on the District so if you did not have the opportunity to talk with him or ask him about United Methodist concerns, this is the place to be.  Please let me know if you’d like to join in.

I hope you have a marvelous weekend.  See you Sunday.

Grace and peace,

Casey

HOPEFEST!

Hello MUMC Friends!
Tomorrow is the long awaited HOPEFEST!  The weather forecast is perfect!  Warm, clear and low humidity.  Check out hopefestnh.org if you haven’t already or download the app on your i-phone so you’ll have all the performance times in your pocket.  Tickets are $40.00 for all of the activities beginning at 10 a.m..   There are some great vendors lined up so you won’t even have to worry about lunch or dinner.  The Music and festivities will be AMAZING!
A reminder that on Sunday MUMC is still having two services.  You do NOT have to pay on Sunday to get in to Hopefest to worship (as some thought) so please don’t let that stop you from praising our God.  The 8:30 service with the Praise Team will be outdoors on the main stage.  The 10:30 service will be in the sanctuary.
I hope to see you both days over the weekend!!!!!!! Hip Hip Hooray!!!
If you’re not able to attend (actually, even if you are!) please pray for the weekend’s success.  Thanks to ALL the people who worked so hard to make this a reality.
Blessings.  Casey

Sunday’s 10:30 combined service/ Potluck

Tomorrow is the last Saturday to prepare for MUMC’s 165th year anniversary and 10th year in this building celebrating with the Bishop during this Sunday’s 10:30 combined service followed by a Potluck, as well as for Hopefest the following weekend !  It will be wonderful to have the church and the grounds looking their very best.

Are you available to help out tomorrow beginning at 9 a.m. or any time through the afternoon?  Setting up for the Bishop and potluck is happening at 9 and outdoor work begins at 9 and goes through the afternoon.  If you can give a couple of hours to lend a hand it would be so appreciated! The more people the more fun!  There will be something for everyone to do. Inside setup and cleaning. Outside weed whacking, brush trimming, sweeping and leaf blowing, pallets to move, and various other things. We need to look our best for all those coming to visit!

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow and then again on Sunday to celebrate with Bishop Devadhar!

A reminder that Rally Day is September 11 with the kids  celebrating together the first day of Sunday School at 9:30.  Second service will continue to begin at 10:30 throughout the year.

Grace and peace, and prayers for a wonderful weekend.

Casey

Hungry and Mission Minded

Hungry?  Hungry and mission minded?  I’ll be at Texas Roadhouse this afternoon, how about you????  Texas Roadhouse in Nashua is donating 10 percent of all meals if the server is told when the guests are seated that they are there to support HOPEFEST!  Any time TODAY from 3-10 p.m.  AND look for someone from MUMC at the Roadhouse selling tickets so YOU will be able to purchase tickets at the Early Bird price of $25.00 rather than the present online price of $35!  Wish I had known that a couple weeks ago!  Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity!  You do need something HOPEFESTy to show your server so print out a page from hopefestnh.org before you go or have your smartphone geared up to do that!

AND that’s not all!  This Saturday night at MUMC, 7 – 8 p.m. the incredible MUMC Praise Band will be giving a preview of the music they will be offering at HOPEFEST, refreshments and all!!!!!!   The Praise Team has been wonderful every evening this week at VBS.  I’m hoping they’ll do a song or two that the kids have been learning this week for the kids at HOPEFEST.

Check out www.hopefestnh.org if you want more information or would like to get involved.  It’s as easy as showing up at the Oval Saturday morning between 9 and 10 to hand out flyers (hint, hint).

Sunday’s service uses the scripture that incorporates, “Eat, drink and be merry”.  Did you even know that was from scripture?  See you in church

Sudarshana Devadhar – Re-Appointed

Looking forward on the August church calendar takes my breath away!  So much going on.  So many prayers needed.  So much for which to be grateful.

The United Methodist Church Bishop, Sudarshana Devadhar this past week was re-appointed by the Jurisdictional Conference for another 4 years serving the people of New England.  We are blessed!  Bishop Devadhar will be leading worship at MUMC on August 21 to help celebrate 10 years in this new building and the upcoming 165th year of United Methodist ministry in Milford.  I hope that’s on your calendar as a “must go!”  Check out the August newsletter for biographical information.  He has been an amazing leader within our Conference.  There will be a time to meet and greet during the potluck after the combined 10:30 service.

Vacation Bible School is right around the corner, July 25-29 from 6-8 p.m.  Thanks to all the wonderful folks at last week’s planning meeting.  The next one is Monday at 6:30.  Would love you to join us!!

Tuesday night there is a Welcoming Task Force meeting at 6:30 and a planning team meeting at 7 p.m. for HOPEFEST.  Come check those out as well.

No reason not to be involved in ministry at MUMC with so much going on!
